It may come as a surprise to you, but God intends for you to thrive at work. Not only that, actually, our work, business, vocation and profession are the very places that God has called us to, in order for His purposes for creation to be fulfilled.

The lives of Joseph, and Daniel and his 3 friends provide models of thriving under trying conditions, amidst injustice, oppression, and a lack of natural belonging. We see from their stories, that the people of God, though clearly true to their covenant with God, could be moved into the places of politics, civil government, economics, secular learning, endless cultural complexity, even ungodliness, and rise to their destinies, and find their calling far away from the centers of spiritual life.
